Water Quality Update for FBMUD 34 Residents

Fort Bend MUD 34 residents may be aware that the District Operator, Municipal Operations & Consulting, (MOC) has taken the necessary actions to ensure the pressure and quality of water distributed to the District meets regulatory standards. As of February 20, 2021, the TCEQ was provided with laboratory test results that indicated the water was safe for human consumption.

What may be news to residents, however, is that during the winter storm, the District water supply was transferred from surface water to well water. This temporary measure was performed for the purpose of maintaining water pressure throughout the District during the storm.

As a result, some residents may be able to smell and/or taste a difference in the water. The Board of Directors and the District’s Operator would like to reassure residents that although they may notice the difference between the surface water and the well water, the water continues to be safe to drink and use. This temporary modification has not impacted the quality of the water supply.

For more information concerning this matter, please feel free to reach out to MOC’s Regulatory Compliance Department at (281) 367-5511.
